@JohannesTEvans tweeted this thread about people complaining about gay men wearing leather at LGBTQ+ Pride Parades. They’re not hurting anyone and it’s not about the children (won’t somebody please think of the children *clutches pearls*). The people complaining are just uncomfortable or straight up bigoted about queerness. Respect your elders and learn some queer history. You can start by reading Leather Daddies at Pride and Queer History which ties into this really well and raises some more good points.

Banning queer people from pride is what most want to do these days, often because they feel that they are now part of the so called “normal” group and so have the same biases against anyone outside of it as people used to have against them.

How do you justify bringing a child to such an event?
