Nathan Long drew this fantastic little comic in which Poison Ivy is asking Batman if she can kill the billionaire owner of a third of all the companies responsible for 71% of global emissions. Dammit Batman. Ivy’s costume in this comic is loosely based on a drawing by Babs Tarr:

Blaming ‘billionaires’ for selling products that nearly everyone buys is a form of responsibility avoidance. It would be nice if only 100, 300, or 3,000 people were responsible for climate change. But that responsibility lands on all of us; and particularly those who live highly consumptive lifestyles.
Threatening to kill billionaires is an extreme form of responsibility avoidance. Though in the case of oil and coal company executives who have promoted lies and disinformation about climate change, a case could be made that the damage they have facilitated does justify severe punishments.
