As someone whos researched them in the original Greek (which I speak), most of the Greek versions of the Myths English speaking people are familiar with are usually the Roman interpretations (and they tend to be very rapey and misogynistic) and that line about men commissioning them and them being all anti women is bullocks (at least as far as the og sources go)
