LOL! Below is a helpful guide on how to use the Three Seashells from the Demolition Man movie. This will come in very handy if there is another great toilet paper shortage like the one of 2020. If you don’t remember, Demolition Man’s utopian 2032 is a world where everybody gets along and war is a thing of the past. Another change is the total removal of toilet paper, which has been replaced with the Three Seashells. The main character John Spartan (cryogenically frozen for 40 years) understandably finds the concept very confusing. It doesn’t help that no one explains it to him.
Sylvester Stallone (who played Spartan) did however explain how they work in a 2006 interview; “…you hold two seashells like chopsticks, pull gently and scrape what’s left with the third“. He didn’t explain how they would be cleaned after so we’re assuming you just throw them away and get new seashells.
