This beautiful little story called “An Umeboshi on an Onigiri” comes from the manga Fruits Basket by Natsuki Takaya. The short fable is about a rice ball (onigiri) that thinks it’s plain and nothing special because it can’t see the delicious plum (umeboshi) on it’s back. The moral of the story is super sweet and cute… and juicy, haha:
