Writer and tabletop roleplaying game designer Avery Alder, Buried Without Ceremony tweeted this genius thread about how credit cards work using a fairy mafia fantasy analogy. To be fair, this could be applied to pretty much all of our financial systems, lol.

I would love to see this adapted as part of a Dungeons & Dragons or other tabletop game story. I could for sure see players getting hopelessly indebted to the nefarious (ne-fairy-ous, see what I did there!?) fairy mafia. This little fan fiction is a great starting point for the idea.

But in all seriousness, borrowing money in RL capitalism is a dangerous game that we are all playing for some reason. This thread is good to keep in mind when making financial decisions, always be wary of the finger necklaces…
