We’ve all heard of the male gaze and the female gaze (if not, there’s an explanation using Harley Quinn in the Male vs Female Gaze post), but have you heard of the bisexual gaze? This post explains what it is and gives many great examples starting with, of course, The Mummy:
Here are the examples of movies and tv series that were filmed under the bisexual gaze:
The Mummy:
You know this one is true. We’ve all seen the thirsty memes, haha:
Jurassic Park:
Venom:
Every Barbie Film:
Night at the Museum (but specifically every scene with Jedediah and Octavius aka Jedtavius):
Pride & Prejudice:
Pirates of the Caribbean:
Les Misérables:
Newsies:
Hannibal:
Good Omens:
So that’s the bi gaze! Like they said in the post, basically if you look at a film and think, “oh my god everyone is attractive why and the film has a bunch of just… super obviously implied queerness, congrats, that’s the bisexual gaze baby! So which films or series would you add to the list? Let us know in the comments below!

I nominate the original LOTR trilogy.
Star Trek – Strange New Worlds – SOOOOOOOOO much bisexual energy there.
Princess Mononoke (San and Ashitaka), the Twilight Series (i.e. goofy baseball scene)
The Thor movies
I dispute the “super obviously implied queerness” part, not because I’m pro- or anti-queer, but because obvious is relative. I watched some of these and didn’t see anything of the sort — but if I were looking for it, I’ll bet I would.
