Add in that Thor’s SNAP also brings his teammate Natasha back, and this alternate would be 1000% better than the movie.
Other than in the MCU (can’t comment on comic universe), being sacrificed for the soul stone was irreversible. Banner specifically stated he tried his hardest to have her come back as well. The soul stone was required to change the universe on that scale, bringing her back(if it were possible) would undo the soul stone, preventing the rest of the desire from coming true.
Avengers: Endgame Alternate Cutscene: Steve goes to Vormir, throws in the Soul Stone and says, “Gimme Natasha back.”
