Elcor are a fictional alien species who have an interesting way of talking. They are from the Mass Effect video game series created by BioWare and first appeared in the original game. The Mass Effect series is set in a science fiction universe where various alien races coexist alongside humanity. One of the most distinctive aspects of the Elcor is their method of communication. They lack expressive facial features, so their emotions and intentions are conveyed primarily through changes in their tone of voice. To make up for this limitation, when speaking to other species, the Elcor preface their statements with an emotion or mood descriptor. For example, they might say “Happy to help” or “Concerned about situation.”

To be fair, before the elcor came, this particular speech pattern was famous because HK-47 of the Star Wars Knights of The Old Republic. Because of it I start many sentences with the “Question”, “Statement” and “Clarification” words. And – sometimes – with the “Mocking Query” and “Egotistical Boast” formulae. 🙂
Setting this aside the post’s thought is agreeable. Conclusion: I wholly support it.
