Whenever we post about The Rocky Horror Picture Show we get a few comments similar to this one, claiming that it is transmisogynistic and should be cancelled. But the thing, The Rocky Horror Picture Show is an important part of trans and queer history. When it came out in the 70’s it was revolutionary. Of course now it would be tone deaf since times have changed. But we can learn from it and evolve. This post goes into why this movie was so important at the time:

You left out the part where teenage straight kids in the 70’s would go watch a movie filled with gay characters and learn a tiny bit of acceptance for people that they had never (knowingly) met.
