New research shows that 0.6% of rape allegations are false, and the number is likely even lower than that as explained in this post. In another context that means that over 99.4% of rape allegations are true.
You can read the study by The Crown Prosecution Service cited in this article here.

Haha they DO talk about other crimes.
I want some citations. What report/study/institution; how many people; demographics; geographical locations; peer reviews.
OK went through the study
5651 Prosecutions for Rape
111891 Prosecutions for DV
35 Prosecutions False Rape
6 Prosecutions False DV
121 Decisions to prosecute false rape allegation
27 DV
11 Both
159 referred for charging
Before we start, Decisions to prosecute does not mean number of reported cases, there can be more than one decision per case…I mean there would have to be for in the 41 falsely reported cases there were more than 3 to 1 ration.
75 had no further action that’s 48% out gone.
11 Out of court disposals. That means they did it, and they plea bargained or they didn’t do it and would have lost in court.
25 charged with per Perverting the Cause of Justice
10 Charged Wasting Police Time
so 46/159=that’s approximately 30% on the high
35/159=22% on the low.
The article didn’t say (or at least I didn’t find where it said the 35 to 46 were found guilty…without this number the article is worthless.
Take this BS article down!
You sound AWFULLY invested in disproving this article. It’s making me wonder why you seem so invested. …..Having some second thoughts about something you might have done yourself?
And oh yeah, that was 2011.
I can only speak for my own country, as I only have seen statistics about that, but I think is relevant because the numbers are similar.
The official number for false rape or sexual assault is indeed 0.6%, but the number of accusations that end up in some kind of punishment are around 21%. That is, 78.4% are not considered false acusations, but not true also, as the alleged criminal is declared not guilty. The number 0.6% just apply when, after the declaration of innocence, the person denounced decides to further continue the legal matter to prove the accusation was made with intention of harming the honour of the accused.
Just for the record, I’m not saying (it would be insane) that the 79% are all false accusations, but I also dont believe the 0.6%. There was a very curious article from someone who read 500 cases of the 17k-ish that constituted that 79% and found things like men accused of rape that later were found dead on their homes (long before the alleged rape happened) and really weird stuff, that is not considered false accusation because the dude is dead and cant sue them back.
Once again, they are for sure super low numbers, but 0.6% being false is not the same as 99.4% being true. Hope I explained myself.
