Yup, that’s what all the foreshadowing was indicating. I like romantic mush but that ending was a real swerve from the setup preceding it.
Women are not fertile on their period. The period comes approximately 2 weeks after ovulation and occurs as the woman did not become pregnant. You don’t get pregnant when having a period.
It’s not unheard of, especially if your cycles are irregular. Less common, perhaps. But it can and does happen.
Women are fertile for approximately 2 days per month when they ovulate approximately two weeks after the first day of their period. It can seem like because sperm can survive for up to 5 days if there is sufficient cervical mucus of the right type.
