This is an interesting thread from parents noticing how they can unconsciously push outdated and unnecessary gender roles on little kids. So this is just a friendly reminder to try not to enforce behavioral double standards. Let little girls play in the mud. Let all kids be kids.

Or the very very logical next point
Why are they dressing their baby girls in skirts anyway? The adult has total control over the budget and what is bought for them to where.
If/When I have kids, They’ll be dressed as unisex as possibly and with toddler/baby play in mind. If they want to pick a new outfit from the shops, they can go wild, and I won’t judge either on what they pick, even if its for the ‘wrong’ gender.
Grew up in the sixties in a family w/1950’s atmosphere. Constantly in trouble for getting dirty b/c I was digging and building and making dams in the rain water streams. I was good at math which was considered amusing & cute. Should have become an engineer or architect but nothing was ever even considered because I was female. Three career paths, nurse, teacher or secretary and even that only until marriage. Took a lo-o-o-ng time to realize other options.
