Customer Service Voice and the Art of Bullshit

Anyone who has worked in the retail or service industries can probably relate to this thread about using your customer service voice vs your real voice. It’s too bad we can’t just drop the façade and talk to each other like humans but here we are. The artificial niceties provided by employees working in these industries are expected at this point. And if the employees stopped using them the Karens and Kens of the world would be very upset and have to speak to the manager. Ugh.

  1. You have NO idea! After doing customer service for Sprint Wireless, then working as a Retail Hell Demon for Torrid for 4 years. I DEFINITELY have my customer voice, then I have my MOM voice (25, 22, and 20), then there’s MY voice. They are all COMPLETELY different voices.
