Just looking at elevation when comparing the Appalachian vs Rocky Mountains isn’t really fair. So the perfect response to this person claiming “the Appalachian mountains really aren’t sh*t” is The Appalachian Mountain Range is Amazing – A Thread. Like we said on the other post, the Appalachian Mountains are incomprehensibly old. I’m talking hundreds of millions of years. There’s no fossils because the mountains are older than bones. They may not look like much compared to other mountain ranges, but they are incredible. Here’s some more neat mountain facts:
