THAT’S why i’ve always been so attached to stuffed animals, favorite items of clothing, etc. a combination of hyperempathy and having trouble dealing with change. that’s why i struggle with passing down favorite shirts/sweaters once ive outgrown them.
My husband struggles to get rid of T-shirts and such it’s exhausting but I understand and let him deal with it on his own.
Our son when he was younger we had issues getting rid of his dummies but we agreed to get rid of them together he was great with it.
It’s respecting their process and how and why they do it.
