This is straight up one of the episodes. A young man crashes outside their house, they bring him in (he’s a ‘beatnik’) and they find his ways interesting. First time someone treats him with respect and thinks his rebellion against “the Man” is absolutely normal and fine. Eventually his dad shows up and the love and acceptance of The Addams means both he and his father reconcile. (We will ignore the required mid-1960’s, white American tv requirement that said reconciliation meant beatnik kid joins dad’s accounting firm.) My gosh, okay, I must sit down. That was 60 years ago.
