Green tea is not green, it brews a light brown. The name refers to the fact that the tea leaves are dried and packaged without aging. Black tea that has been aged before being packaged for use. The use of ‘green’ here is much like green lumber, which is freshly cut wood rather than the more normal seasoned wood.
