Dude Tries to Claim Credit for Frankenstein’s Monster

@woodmuffin posted on twitter about just how much credit Mary Shelley deserves for coming up with Frankenstein’s monster. Like he says, not only was she the most successful female writer of the 19th century, but she’s also the only person who’s ever come up with a Halloween monster (although I guess you guys can debate that claim). Anyway, the tweet then prompted this ridiculous dude to claim that, actually, he had also came up with the idea for Frankenstein’s monster on his own. And that somehow takes away from her achievements as the mother of science fiction. This has to be trolling right? RIGHT? What an epic fail:

  1. I’m just trying to figure out how he avoided any cultural references to Frankenstein’s monster for a large portion of his life. Was he three when he came up with the idea?

    1. It’s only been in the public consciousness for about 200 years. Some people are still living in the Middle Ages….

  2. cant tell if he’s joking/being sarcastic or dead serious. being ND sucks sometimes. suffice to say, i’ve come up with stuff i thought was original before and it turned out to already have been invented or tumblr posted so
