This always make me tear up whenever I read it. Such a hopeful message that highlights the potential for good in humanity, despite – or maybe even because of – our crude and violent origins
I cry at this too. What does that say about us that we cry at hope?

So what happened next?
The doctor opened fire with a concealed pistol once she was sure the aliens were unprepared for war. Then an elite team of soldiers massacred the rest of the colonists. It turned out that the disease had been created by the humans as a way of softening the planet before invasion.
