FightinCowboy makes some really good points about so-called “forced diversity” in gaming and geek culture. But for real, having more people of color, women, LGBTQ+, and minority characters is not only better representation for everyone, but also just a better reflection of reality. Different types of people exist and straight white male is not the default. No one is “forcing diversity”, diverse people just exist and are part of geek culture and always have been. Representation for everyone matters. The fact that so many people still actively fight against this is sad and pathetic. This man gets it:
