This is a neat idea for a comic book superhero with a “Groundhog Day” type superpower. Specifically a hero who, if they die, immediately finds themselves waking up at the beginning of that day again. If they don’t die, they just continue forward through time…

the British show Misfits messed around with this trope in some very clever ways, perhaps not surprisingly as Misfits is a brilliant off-beat take on the whole superhero genre.
The X-men’s latest run under Jonathan Hickman (House of X) is entirely based on a variation of this: Moira McTaggart turns out to be a mutant that returns to her moment of birth whenever she dies, rebooting the entire timeline. And this time she’s decided to help Xavier & Magneto create a mutant nation. Cool idea, controversial run.
