Here are a few cute little Gwenpool comic book excerpts from Marvel Comics. She first appeared on a variant cover of “Deadpool’s Secret Secret Wars” #2 in 2015, created by artist Chris Bachalo. Initially, she was just a whimsical mashup of Gwen Stacy (Spider-Man’s love interest) and Deadpool (the Merc with a Mouth). However, due to popular demand and interest, she evolved into a fully-fledged character.
Gwenpool’s real name is Gwen Poole, and she comes from the “real world,” where she was a comic book fan. After somehow finding herself transported into the Marvel Universe, she decided to become a superhero, even though she lacks any actual superpowers. Instead, she relies on her extensive knowledge of comic book tropes and conventions to navigate her new reality, often breaking the fourth wall and commenting on the absurdity of comic book logic.
Gwenpool starred in her own solo series titled “The Unbelievable Gwenpool,” written by Christopher Hastings and drawn by Gurihiru. The series ran for 25 issues from 2016 to 2018. Gwenpool has also made appearances in other Marvel Comics titles and team-up series, gaining a dedicated fanbase for her unique blend of humor, meta-commentary, and superhero antics. We ❤️ Gwenpool!
