This post is all about how harvesting honey does not hurt bees. Some vegans don’t eat honey because they think it’s bad for bees, but the opposite is true. And using honey alternatives like agave is actually bad for bats and your health. Like this beekeeper says, buy the honey, help the bees:

Also, of all the animals that humans engage in agriculture with, bees are the only ones for whom it can be reasonably argued that the relationship is consenting for both parties. Bees CAN and DO leave bad beekeepers if they think they have a better chance as a hive in the wild, or with a different beekeeper. Our relationship with them isn’t the same as our relationships with cows, pigs, chicken, or sheep.
