Homosexuality in Ancient China

This post is about a famous gay Emperor of China and the story of “the passion of the cut sleeve”. It also goes on in more detail about the history of homosexuality in ancient China. Emperor Ai of Han was also famous of course for being emperor of the Chinese Han dynasty, but also for being openly homosexual. Traditional historians agree that the relationship between Emperor Ai and Dong Xian was one of homosexual lovers. Their relationship was referred to as “the passion of the cut sleeve” after a story that one afternoon after falling asleep for a nap on the same bed, Emperor Ai cut off his sleeve rather than disturb the sleeping Dong Xian when he had to get out of bed. ❤️
