tai.draws created this helpful informational comic about how to do better at getting new pronouns right. Here’s what they had to say about it:
“Gender affirmation is one of the easiest ways to improve the quality of life of trans people you know. If you have any compassion for trans (/& non-binary) people do your best to get their pronouns right. Please enjoy and share this educational tool, and support trans people in your everyday lives. Honestly, I think I would rather have people do a blunder from time to time than to follow a manual like this whenever they interact with me as if I was some sort of ultra-vulnerable endangered animal.
Great practical advice I wish more people knew ahead of time. It’s so awkward to trust someone with your identity in what might be a risky and nerve wracking moment just to have to babysit -their- feelings and shame and resentment about -your- gender.
