Sorry, but making your bed isn’t worth it (except for peace of mind of “orderly”). Making your bed, tucking your sheets, etc traps body moisture between the layers. It just…sits there. And that moisture adds to the dead skin cells already in your mattress, increases chances of mildew, and prevents your sheets from airing dry properly during the day. The thing that is worth it on the bed is get a mattress cover to prevent some of the detritus and skin cells from making into the mattress(and washing that cover regularly), and let your sheets air. If you have company coming, what are they doing going into your bedroom? If that company may actually spend time IN the bedroom, change your sheets before they come over, and with clean sheets sure, make the bed if you want.
