This hard truth is an effective way to piss off psych majors. This is also the reason why we should have more people with neurodivergence as psychologists. And this is a great quote from a nurse: “You do not, and cannot, know how it feels. You should never say you do to your patients. You do not and cannot know what it is like to be that person. You may know about their illnesses, you may have started to know them through your care of them, but you dont know their own, personal lived experience. Even if you have the same condition yourself, even if you’ve been where they are now, their experience will be different from yours.”
