
This thread makes an interesting point about how to animals humans are the Fae. This may not sound legit at first, but they make a lot of really good points. And on top of all that, while humans are not immortal, it may seem that we are since we live many, many times longer than most other species lifetimes. Perhaps this is because we’ve evolved to the fairies of the natural world, which goes well with the What if Fantasy Creatures Existed & Mixed With Humans theory. I saw little or no mention of how the “fae” seem to not age. Humans will often outlive several long-lived housepets, and wild animals usually have shorter lifespans.
It makes me wonder if stories of the fae originated from a time when human communities were at wildly different stages of development. Humans who knew how to farm and make built structures to keep the weather off would seem wondrous to those who were still hunter gathers.
