Idea for an Apocalyptic Show With Disabled Protagonists

This is a great post about a concept for an apocalyptic or post-apocalyptic tv show starring disabled protagonists. The plot ideas they came up with are solid and I would definitely check this series out. The post also highlights some existing apocalyptic media that features disabled or chronically ill characters like the anthology book Defying Doomsday. And also Underdogs by Chris Bonnello, which follows autistic teenagers in the apocalypse. Anyway, 100% would watch:

  1. One of the disabilities I’d like to see done, and done in a way that’s respectful and NOT turning the character into the stereotypical Murder Hobo Jackass, is schizophrenia. In every single police procedural tv series, movie, etc., schizophrenia, or anything similar to it really, is far too often used for the go-to This Is Why So-And-So Did Heinous Act and that, in reality, simply is not the case. 99.99% of those of us who struggle with schizophrenia, or other mental illnesses, just want to be left alone so we can giggle at butterflies and pet All The Kitties and Doggies.
