Jenna Ortega was cast as the iconic Wednesday Addams in Netflix’s upcoming live-action Wednesday series directed by Tim Burton! The series will follow Wednesday Addams‘ years as a student at Nevermore Academy. That’s where she attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, stop a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago. All while navigating her new and very tangled relationships.
If you’re not familiar with her, she first received recognition known for her role as Young Jane on The CW romantic comedy-drama series Jane the Virgin (2014–19). She then had her breakthrough starring as Harley Diaz on the Disney Channel series Stuck in the Middle (2016–18). Aside from acting, Ortega has been noted for her philanthropy as well as her public image. She was listed first on PopSugar’s “20 Under 20” list in 2020. Jenna is also known for her fashion sense and strong social media presence. She has also been praised for her activism towards discrimination and LGBTQ+ rights.
