This is a neat list of eerie places where reality seems to be a bit altered because these are actually what’s known as “liminal spaces”. A liminal space is a location which is a transition between two other locations, or states of being. Typically these are abandoned or empty. This makes the space feel frozen and slightly unsettling, but also familiar to our minds. Here is the list of examples:
