I’ve always thought that a good strategy for a large army would be to collect all the left-handed soldiers into one battalion and let them swap their sword and shield to be natural for them. Of course, when they line up against a right-handed battalion, it would by symmetrical so you’d think it would not have that much benefit, but my band of lefties would be used to it and would know to attack the person in front of their neighbor rather than the person directly in front of them.
