Of The Author

LOL! David J Prokopetz posted this amusing “of the author” list inspired by “death of the author”. The phrase was first coined by the French literary critic Roland Barthes in 1967. The concept suggests that the author’s intentions and personal background should not be considered when interpreting their work. According to Barthes, once a work of literature is published, the author’s control over the meaning of the work is relinquished, and the reader becomes the primary interpreter of the text. The reader’s interpretation is not limited to the intended meaning, but rather, the meaning is open to interpretation based on the reader’s own experiences, beliefs, and cultural context.

  1. We are humans. We specialize in twisting everything to what makes us feel good, doesn’t matter if God wrote it or if it was mitochondria.
