People Moments

This is a wholesome post about noticing people in little intimate moments. It’s a good reminder that humans can be just beautiful and the world isn’t all bad. There’s lots of great examples of these sweet little moments. And just evidence of other people’s rich, baffling and complex inner lives: ❤️

  1. The two eye contact ones are proof — eye contact is communication. Just for a second? Not someone you know? Doesn’t matter. This has been my theory as to why people on the autism spectrum don’t make eye contact regularly — we know we’re saying something, but we don’t know what. Enter video montage of the embarrassed foreigner saying something ridiculous in a language they don’t speak.

Ok, I’m cutting off the rant before I really get into it. I leave only these thoughts, inspired by the above post. 1) Fellow neurodivergents, it’s ok to be someone’s ally for a brief period — it may be all they need. And 2) I don’t care how tough, important or dead-inside you think you are — when a baby looks you in the eye in that way that means they’re saying something, give ’em a smile — give it right to them so they know you’re communicating too.
