Pro-Choice Comments on Abortion

Here is a great collection of some of the best pro-choice facebook comments and tweets. These commenters make really compelling points that I don’t understand how anyone could argue with. You are either pro-choice or pro-forced birth, it’s really that simple. If people still want to argue just ask them this question that proves no one believes life begins at conception. Anyway, we thought now was a good time to post these as women’s rights to safe abortion is still under attack in America and around the world.

  1. I am a hundred percent in the forced birth category and posting a bunch of pro-choice comments in a void is dishonest and manipulative.

Determining if a zygote is human or not is indeed philosophical but it’s philosophical with massive practical implications. If a child dies because they need a bone marrow transplant and didn’t get one, they are dying from natural causes. Abortion kills the child. It is literally murder. At it’s most “noble,” it is putting a child in a situation they can’t survive until they slowly die with the intent that they will die. Usually, it’s poisoning or dismembering the kid and pulling them out of the womb after the fact.

Forced birth people do care about orphans and mothers and people after birth and the poor and etc. This is super presumptuous but (possibly willfully) blind. Pro-life organizations are extremely proud about how much they aid the mother in preparing her to care for her child and providing necessities after birth. Two ones that come to mind are Mother and Unborn Baby Care and Mary’s Mantle.

While it’s true that some people do switch sides temporarily when it suits them, it is just as true that many people do not. They suffer through difficult pregnancies or doomed childbirths or bad fetal diagnoses. I can think of multiple people in my own circle who made the hard decision to do this. You can’t presume what a pro-life person would do if you don’t understand the deeper reasons why they chose that philosophy.

IVF is terrible and there are plenty of organizations that are pushing against it. In fact, your specific complaint is related to this article https://www.newsweek.com/anti-abortion-groups-take-ivf-1463839 where an anti-abortion group pushes back against IVF clinics for the exact logic you say they don’t use: fertilized eggs are still children.

I cannot go down the street and force a woman to give me her literal heart, lungs, or kidney. So no, women do not have less rights than a corpse. Abortion is not a right in any case. It is a travesty that is a testament to what the strong can do to the vulnerable when no one speaks up for them. Abortion hurts women emotionally, psychologically, spiritually, and sometimes even physically.

    1. Way to miss the point about bodily autonomy \o/ Also a 14 year-old isn’t old enough to drive a car or drink but they’re supposed to be old enough to care for a baby? Nope.

    2. Oh look, a man that’s okay with forcing women to give birth even if raped or at risk of dying. Never seen that before. Shocking. Truly. /s

    3. Greg should check out the next article, where someone actually attempted to use the “support pregnant girl who can’t take care of a baby” organizations. Big shock. Nada help but lots of slut shaming; and not just of the girl, but also of her child. All these ppl talk about adoption, but there’s 400,000 kids that need adoption RIGHT NOW, and none of them are actively taking one of those kids into their homes.
