Star Wars R2-D2 Tiffany Lamps

Etsy seller MasterGlasster makes these incredible Star Wars R2-D2 Tiffany Style Lamps! Here’s more info about the piece:

“This is the Droid you are looking for! Never worry again about the threats of the dark side while this lamp illuminates the room! Or feed your dark side on the jealousy of your friends this lamp will certainly generate when they see it..

Much like the original design I made but more in line with an actual Tiffany style. The lampshade maintains its curve through out the design without the faceplate or camera parts popping out.

The sale if for the lamp shade and base. The shade has a diameter of 16 inches and sits around 7 inches tall; with the base and harp it stands approx 21″ tall (give or take an inch or so).. Lamp consists of about 500 individual cut glass that i grind into to shape, outlined with copper foil, and soldered together. A brass ring is added to the bottom for stability and finally the lead is finished with a black patina to really make the glass pop. Allow 3-4 weeks to build.

One of these lamps had found a home at the Rancho Obi-wan Star Wars Museum, you can see it in the background on episode one of “The Toys That Made Us” on Netflix.

I use the same technique and hardware that Tiffany Studios use to create some of the most memorable stained glass lamps known. This is a luxury item that will last for as long as it is taken care of; this could be passed to a great grandchild as an heirloom, if your geek genes travel that far ! For serious fans or collectors of Star Wars merch, know that very few of these will be out there at this price point and with the different textures and varied shade of glass, you are truly owning something unique that no other collector will have!!!”
