This is the Batman we need. The first comic book excerpt example in this post is from Batman: The Dark Knight Vol. 2: Cycle of Violence (The New 52) when he handles the scared girl with such care. And the other mention is from Justice League Unlimited season 2, episode 13 “Epilogue” when Bruce sits on the swings with Ace and holds her hand as she dies. It’s a very touching moment. Batman, when written correctly, is an extremely compassionate person.

Here the heartbreaking scene with from Justice League Unlimited:
theres a line from young justice i forget the exact wording but he basicly says he took in Dick tim and jason not to make the next him but to prevent the next him
Wonder Woman: You indoctrinated Robin into crimefighting at the ripe-old age of nine.
Batman: Robin needed to help bring the man who murdered his family to justice.
Wonder Woman: So he could turn out like you?
Batman: So that he wouldn’t.
All Star Batman And Robin. There’s a reason (well, many reasons) Linkara hates that series.
Man I really hope the new DC is just like this. You need pathos, as much as Marvel’s comedy model is funny, I rather this hard hitting gritty darkness.
I could imagine The Punisher confronting a scared child. He was a husband and father, he had kids. He’d remember that, and he could be kind. Depends on the interpretation I guess, but I don’t think it’d be completely out of character. Full disclosure, never read the comics, seen Daredevil but not Punisher.
Frank can have his moments, but a lot of times I don’t think a lot of kids would feel safe enough to talk to him.
