1 theory. The door leads to a parallel universe where everyone is left handed. And it’s exactly the same. That’s the only difference from the normal world. But that theory is disproved when the wife uses her right hand forcibly. This shows that she is clearly trying to fit in. Meaning the original wife is either dead, or in the other world. Probably dead. Because if she wasn’t dead, the other wife woudl be eating with her left hand as she would have went into the real world after a mix up. Because she is using her right hand, she knows that she is in a parallel world where everyone is right handed. The only reason she is using her right hand is to fit in. Coraline, anyone? Honestly, I wish i could use this level of inference in my upcoming English GCSEs.
