The First Six Days Working at Target

LOL! kimpossibooty posted this extensive and amusing list of all the crazy things that happened in his first six days working at Target. If you don’t know, Target is an American big box department store chain kind off like Wal Mart. Anyway, here is the saga of his first week working at Target:

  1. I never worked in Target, but this happened to me one day while I was there – I was in the checkout lane, and the guy behind me had two kids, one of which was an autistic son. The son was very eager to purchase some batteries and slid them over the scanner before my order was closed out. We were all quick to catch the issue, and the son was so distraught, he grabbed me in a big hug and apologized. It was okay, of course, I wasn’t mad (though I’m not a real touchy-feely person).

  2. I worked as a cashier at Target myself. Lots of random stuff happens, but my favorite was when I was monitoring the self checkout lanes one evening and a family of (I’m guessing) French Canadians came through speaking French with each other but asking me for help in English. (I live and work in Massachusetts, so it was unusual and noteworthy.) I helped them and on their way out they thanked me again and I said “bon soir” to them (“good evening” in French). The father nodded while walking out, stopped briefly looking back at me, then continued walking. I’m sure he was thinking “Wait, did he… NAAAAHHH…” as he did that.
