Wow, there’s a lot to unpack here. Dr Sarah Taber, who is a crop scientist, ex-farmworker, and industrial safety pro, tweeted this informative thread about how the modern poultry business was shaped by sexism. This is not terribly surprising, since so much of our current society was shaped by sexism, but this is a super interesting read about the history.
