This Dorkly web comic makes a good point about the problem with Thanos’ plan in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie, Avengers: Infinity War. His plan was not only wildly destructive, but would not at all be for the “greater good”. Thanos was wrong. Also bonus points for the appearance of the Thanos-Copter, lol:

But the real question here is was Thanos wiping out half of all life, or only half of all intelligent life? And if he was how do you really make that distinction when it comes to all the creatures in the universe? Anyway, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed in an interview that animals and plants were also victims of The Snap. So at least in the Marvel Cinematic Universe all life was included. So yea, Thanos’ plan was stupid. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
To be fair Thanos is the villain so of course his plan is a bad thing.
On the other hand, assuming species of interest survive then it doesn’t take long to double a population. 20 minutes for some bacteria, 25 to 50 years for humans. And then what did generations of scheming and searching for the magic stones get you? A brief reduction in resource consumption compared to the lifespan of species and the universe.
