The Reason Why Sharks Attack Surfers

Sharks don’t attack humans because they are malicious or evil, they are just hungry! The reason sharks attack surfers so often is because their shadows look so much like their natural prey. Well also because surfers are in the water so often. But, to be fair, shark attacks on humans are still incredibly rare. Only about 4 people per year are killed by sharks, while snakes kill 50,000-100,000 per year and crocodiles kill around 1000 people per year. There are so many more deadly animals, but people seem to fear sharks the most (I can’t help but recall this Sharks are Perfectly Safe Comic, lol). But, like this post says, sharks are vital to our oceans, the ecosystem, and the health of the world. Please be kind to sharks.
