For those who don’t know what the Voyager Golden Record is, NASA placed a message aboard the Voyager 1 and 2 spacecrafts as a kind of time capsule. It is intended to communicate the story of our world to extraterrestrials. The message is carried on a phonograph record, which is a 12-inch gold-plated copper disk. It contains sounds and images selected to portray the diversity of life and culture on Earth. This post about it explains a bit more and is truly beautiful:
