Patrick S. Tomlinson tweeted this question he asks whenever abortion comes up. The question basically destroys the notion that anyone truly believes “life begins at conception”. It’s a hypothetical scenario and even though “pro-life” people won’t admit it, it pretty much proves that people don’t really believe embryos are children. Here is the thread:

This is bullshit AND it’s right out of Star Trek The Next Generation. Wesley hears an explosion and heads into a room, there’s an unconscious possibly dead guy and another guy behind steam begging for help. Wesley grabs the unconscious guy without checking his pulse and tells the other one to help himself out. Door closes before other guy gets out.
Best answer, put the embryos in a portable container, and put the container in the hand of the kid, and save the kid. But that’s not allowed in the fact pattern.
Last night I watched a video of 2 year old who performed a DDF and then an off the top rope (on top of his clothing chest) on his dad. I’ve seen 2 and 3 year old kids call 911. At 5 I was going to friends houses in Staten Island unsupervised. This screaming 5 year old has one chance, follow me out.
The kid is not shown injured and if he can save himself you tell him to follow you. The fact pattern says you can’t take both so I’m assuming in the fact pattern I have only one arm AND the kid can’t carry a portable.
If the embryos have a power plug or a rechargeable battery with a power port and I can lift the container without needing to wheel it down to an elevator, ie if I can get them downstairs without slowing down, I grab them and I tell the kid you’re not hurt, run behind me. If the kid does not follow, natural selection.
If they are frozen without mobile support, and the support unit is immobile or requires an elevator, I grab the kid.
And if they are unwheelable, I push them out the window, grab the kid and escape. If someone else can save them, it’s G-d’s will, if not, I did my best.
