We all know that customers (especially Karens) can be completely ridiculous, especially to servers, retail, and customer service workers. But this story about a couple harassing a waitress for being British is next level insane. At least the manager was awesome about the whole thing. Here’s the transcript of what happened:

It’s hard not to love such false and made-up stories. Not because there aren’t malicious and fu***d up racists in the world, but because these statements sound too long and detailed like for an actual conversation. They are moderated like a movie script. And the ending is stolen from another story.
so true, but it’s nice to feel good for a sec, and remember all the crappy, and nice, people i have met in restaurants, that are part of this story, at least a little bit.
Sadly this is all too true in many respects because some people listen more to how something is said rather what is being said. I’m a Brit and experienced something similar and found it was my accent and not my English that formed the barrier. Some people switch off when they hear something different from what they are used to…
