This post is all about why sun bears are so weird looking compared to other bears. I was today years old when I learned sun bears even existed. So if you’re like me and you didn’t know, the sun bear is a species of bear that lives in the tropical forests of Southeast Asia. It is the smallest bear, standing about 28 inches at the shoulder and weighing 25–65 kilograms. It has a weird stocky build, with large paws, strongly curved claws, small rounded ears and a short snout. As you can see in the pics below, it looks really weird compared to other bears and here’s why:
