The sad truth is that women’s mere existence is too much for some men (#notallmen of course, you don’t need to say it, haha). We’ve all heard those guys bitching about how “yet another female-led franchise” is coming out, as if we haven’t had male-led franchises for almost everything in the past. Or complaining about “Mary Sues”, as if we haven’t been subjected to Gary Stus for forever. Women’s existence (or any minority’s existence for that matter) is considered “political” or “an agenda” by these guys. Anyway, the reasons is that these guys perceive a small number of women as being more than it actually is. They also perceive that women talk more than men, even when they actually don’t. I find it interesting that your examples are all fantasy/science fiction. Is that because it doesn’t happen in the real world?
Actually, if you check the statistics, women do exist in roughly equal numbers to men in the real world as well.
I chose those examples because they were some of the more prominently complained about by men who said that women were taking over and ruining “their” franchises.
