My head canon has always been that Anakin subconsciously used the force on Padmé to make her love him. This article said a few times that Anakin was in love with the idea of Padmé, and maybe not the real Padmé which would make sense that he could subconsciously pressure Padmé into staying with him.
Maybe the reason that Padmé, a Senator who shows real backbone with a lot of people couldn’t make boundaries with Anakin is because she was stopped by Anakin subconsciously from doing this.
Maybe as force users themselves, both Obi-Wan and Ashoka where protected from this subconscious pressure.
