Photoshopping Men The Same Way Women Are

Photoshop expert Caroline In The City created this eye-opening series to show what it would look like if the media started photoshopping men the same way that women are photoshopped. She encourages people to learn what’s real and fake in media. This Tik Tok experiment show the skin smoothing and retouching on male actors and celebs that we are used to seeing on famous women. It shows there are still some sexist beauty double standards running rampant in our society. Here’s a few words from her about it:

“I definitely think about this every time I see a cute little wrinkles on ‘silver foxes’ and smoothed doll skin on women the same age.”

  1. The irony is that in almost every case the photoshop job makes the subject less attractive. They look like the uncanny CGI characters in “Polar Express.”

    1. It’s like there are different criteria of attractiveness for men and women and if you apply the criteria for one to the other you make them less attractive. Weird, eh?
